[plant morphology] Lycoris radiata

Perennial herbs. Bulb hypertrophy, subglobose, about 5 cm in diameter, covered with dark brown bulb skin. Leaves basal, thick, broad linear, upper part gradually narrow, up to 60 cm, about 1.5 cm wide, above yellow green, glossy, below gray green, midrib concave above, uplift below, veins and leaf base with purplish red. The length of tube is less than 2 cm, petiolate, yellow or orange, perianth piece 6, margin slightly wrinkled, width about 1 cm; stamen 6, extending out of perianth with style; ovary inferior, 3-locular. Capsule with several seeds per locule. It blooms in summer. The fruit period is autumn.
