[plant morphology] Vallisneria stolonifera
Herbs perennial, milky, stoloniferous. The aerial stem is erect, 30-80 cm high. The leaves are alternate, oblong lanceolate, 10-20 cm long and 2-5 cm wide, with blunt rounded apex, sparse notches or triangular lobes, small sharp teeth on the margin, and gradually narrowed into stalks at the base; the stem leaves are sessile, and the base is auricular. The inflorescence is terminal, arranged in corymb or panicle, 2-4cm in diameter, with glandular hairs on peduncle and involucre; involucre is bell shaped, with several layers of bracts, the innermost bract is long and thin, the edge is membranous, lanceolate, the apex is obtuse, and the outermost bract is short; the flowers are yellow, all tongue shaped; the stamens are 5, the anthers are connected at the base, and the tail is acuminate; the pistil is composed of 2 carpels, the ovary is inferior, and the flowers are small Column slender, stigma 2-lobed. Achene long elliptic, narrow margin, with several longitudinal lines, slightly rough; corolla white, soft. The flowering period is from late autumn to early summer of the next year.
Born on hillside, roadside and field. Most of them are distributed in China.
