[plant morphology] takifuga
Perennial herbs, 40-70 cm high. Stem green, densely pubescent, leaves opposite, ovate, 5-9 cm long, 4-8 cm wide, apex acuminate, base shallowly cordate, margin sparsely serrate, both sides pubescent; petiole 4-8 cm long, pubescent. Raceme terminal, inflorescence axis densely pubescent; bracts small; flowers bisexual, white; calyx tube ovate, lobes 2; petals 2, broadly obovate, shorter than calyx lobes, apically concave; stamens 2; ovary inferior, 2-locular. Fruit nutlike, obovate globose, covered with light brown hooked hairs; stipe hairy, slightly shorter than fruit or nearly equal.
It grows on the hillside, roadside and under the forest. It is distributed in Northeast, North China, East China, southwest and Shaanxi.
It's pungent, cool and poisonous.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, promoting muscle growth.
