[source] it is the wood, branches and leaves of nanmu, a Lauraceae plant.
[plant morphology] Phoebe, also known as Nanshu (Ren Fang's Shuyi Ji), Yanan and Zhennan.
Evergreen trees, up to 30 m high. Branchlets slender, pubescent or hairy when young, then gradually fall off. The leaves are long or 4-8 cm, lanceolate or broad. 2-5 cm wide, apex pointed, base cuneate, smooth above, with gray or brown hairs below, especially along the main vein and lateral vein. Cymes axillary, flowers small, green; perianth discoid, lobes 6, apex pointed. Berry ovoid, black, 1.3 cm long; pedicel hairy, apex inflated. The fruit period is from September to October.
He was born in the mountains. It is distributed in Sichuan, Hubei, Guizhou and Yunnan.
