[chemical constituents] the roots of limong contain coumarin scopoletin and umbelliferide. It contains p-hydroxybenzoic acid, p-coumaric acid, salicylic acid, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, gentilic acid, erucic acid, vanillic acid, p-hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid, o-coumaric acid, ferulic acid and m-coumaric acid. Among the above components, m-coumaric acid exists in free form, scopoletin and o-coumaric acid coexist in bound and free form, and the rest exist in bound form.
