The pileus is hemispherical at the beginning, develops in the second place, and finally becomes umbelliform, grayish brown or light dark brown, with a diameter of 12-15 cm. The fold is white and connected with the stalk. When the cap is not developed, it is covered with a cap film, and the developed cap film remains on the stalk, becoming an unobvious bacterial ring. Stipe attached to the center of the cap, erect, slightly curved, 9-18 cm long.
In summer and autumn, it grows on the ground of pine forest.

The aroma components contained 60-80% Tricholoma matsutake 5-10%, isotricholoma matsutake 2-octen-1-ol 15-30%, methyl cinnamate. It also contains antitoxic pyrimidine, which may be an organic acid containing base core. It is also found in rice sugar, yeast, soybean, apple, spinach leaf, liver, egg yolk and other foods. It has antagonistic effect on spasm induced by injection of 2-methyl-6-amino-5-hydroxymethylpyrimidine into mice.
