Milk tree

[synonym] milkvetch and milkvetch.
The roots and narrow leaves of ficaceae are from Taiwan.
[plant morphology] Ficus microcarpa
Shrubs, about 1 m high. The branches are purplish red with white milk. Branchlets, veins and petioles pubescent, caducous. Leaves simple, alternate, membranous, lanceolate or oblong lanceolate, 5-9 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, lateral veins at right angles to midvein, venules inconspicuous. The inflorescence receptacle is pedunculate, single in leaf axil, spherical or pear shaped, green or purplish red; there are 3 bracts at the base, male flower and gall flower in the same inflorescence receptacle; female flower in another inflorescence receptacle, male perianth 3-4, stamen 2; gall perianth 3-4 or more, style short, lateral. Fruit globose, purplish red at maturity. The flowering period is from October to the next spring.
Born in the bush. It is distributed in Southeast China,

[nature and taste] flat, pungent and slightly astringent.
Functions and indications: dispelling wind and dampness, clearing heat and detoxifying. For low back pain, jaundice, malaria, pertussis, back carbuncle, breast carbuncle, insufficient milk, gingivitis, snakebite.
[selection] 1. To treat pertussis: milk is the root of the tree, and it is boiled in water.
② Treatment of back carbuncle: milk tree leaves appropriate amount, mash external application; another two milk tree roots, decoction.
③ Treatment of milk shortage: milk tree root two liang, Dijin one or two, Imperata root five money, pig foreleg one, brown sugar, rice wine a little. Fried in water. Take soup and eat meat.
