[source] it is the rhizome and root of Euphorbiaceae.
[plant morphology] Sanpin Yizhi flower, also known as maggot grass.
Herbs erect, perennial, ca. 20 cm tall. The rhizome is short and the fibrous root is fine. Stems slender, solitary, sometimes branched. The basal leaves are convoluted, linear lanceolate, about 2.5 cm long and 2.5-4 mm wide; the cauline leaves are alternate and isomorphic with the basal leaves, and the smaller they are. Flowers blue purple, 2-7, terminal, sessile or with very short petiole; perianth tubular, 3 winged, lobes 6, 3 outer, ovate triangular, 3 inner, smaller; stamens 3, inserted below inner perianth lobes, without filaments, connective dilated; stigma 3-lobed, saccate. It blooms in winter.
Born in roadside grass. It is distributed in the southwest and east of China.
