Shrub, 1-2 meters high, stem erect, sometimes spread into cushion, branches with thorns. Leaf blade broadly elliptic to ovate, apex rounded or obtuse, margin serrate, light obtuse, dark green, glabrous, 4 pairs of lateral veins. Flowers on short branches, pale rose. Drupe ovate, slightly flat, subsessile, hairy.
It grows on desert steppe, rocky low mountain, piedmont, valley and sandy land of dry river bed in desert zone; sometimes it forms sparse shrub on dry sand slope, and is extremely resistant to drought and barren. Distributed in Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Gansu and other places.
The seed kernel of this plant is used as the kernel of plum in Inner Mongolia.
[collection] in late July, when the fruit is ripe, collect the fruit, remove the flesh and core shell, take out the kernel and dry it.
