[plant morphology] Ranunculus Japonicus
Small perennial herbs. Young plants sparsely covered with grayish white pubescence, later glabrous or slightly pilose. The root tubers are fleshy, spindle shaped, and aggregated. Stem 5-15 cm high, branched; basal leaves 3-compound or 3-lobed; leaflets ovoid or broadly obovate, 0.5-1.5 cm long and 0.5-1 cm wide; apex 3-lobed or dentate; base cuneate, sometimes linear or linear lanceolate; central lobe slightly larger than both sides; petiole, petiole 3-6 cm long, base enlarged, margin membranous; cauline leaves alternate, usually sessile , 3-lobed, lobes linear, ca. 1. 5 cm long, ca. 1 mm wide. The flower is single at the end of the stem, opposite to the leaf, 1.5 cm in diameter, 0.5-2 cm in petiole length, with short and fine hairs: sepals 5, oblong or obovate, membranous, green, margin yellowish, recurved downward, with fine hairs outside; petals 5, broad obovate, yellow, glabrous; stamens many, anthers oblong, longitudinally split, filaments flat; carpels many, free, clustered on the expanded receptacle Stigma short, simple. The achene is oblate ovate, small, light brown and smooth, with a short beak at the top. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit period is from May to June.
It grows on the edge of field, roadside, depression and hillside grass. It is distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, etc.
[collection] it can be harvested all year round. After the roots are dug out, the stems and fibrous roots are cut off and dried in the sun.
[medicinal material] the dried root tuber is spindle shaped, with a cluster of several, which looks like a cat's paw, with a total length of about 1 cm. The surface is yellowish brown or grayish brown, with some fibrous root marks and some fibrous root residues; the upper end is yellowish brown residual stem or stem mark, with solid quality, yellowish white or yellowish brown cross section, solid or hollow. No gas, slightly sweet taste. The best color is yellow brown, solid and full.

[prescription selection] 1. To treat scrofula: appropriate amount of Ranunculus ternatus and Prunella vulgaris. Boiled, filtered juice, and then boil into cream, paste the affected area. Two cats claw grass four Liang. After boiling, add the yellow wine for half an hour, then filter the juice, add yellow rice wine or rice wine (avoid Baijiu) as the guide, take four times. The next day, the original medicine was decocted again with the above method without rice wine. One dose every two days, four doses in a row. The interval is three to five days. [clinical application] treatment of cervical lymph node tuberculosis
180 cases of simple, mixed infection, ulcer and fistula type of cervical lymph node tuberculosis were treated with Maozhaocao Decoction (or tincture) combined with traditional Chinese medicine for invigorating qi and nourishing blood, surgical incision and drainage, scratching operation and local application of various Maozhaocao preparations. After 2-3 months of treatment, 134 cases were clinically cured, 32 cases were significantly effective and 14 cases were improved. Preparation and usage: one internal medicine: 150 grams of cat claw grass, add 500 ml water, simmer for half an hour, take 2-4 pairs of yellow rice wine before going to bed, one dose a day. Or with 25% tincture, 3 times a day, 10 ml each time. All patients were treated with 3 days as a course of treatment, with an interval of 3-5 days for the next course of treatment. During the interval, the patients with physical weakness were given Bazhen decoction, and the patients with ulcers or fistulas were given Yiqi Yangrong decoction, 2-3 doses in succession. The second external dressing: 10% extract of Ranunculus ternatus, soaked in sterile gauze, used for necrotic tissue or more caseous ulcer wounds or tubes; 30% ointment of Ranunculus ternatus, used for mixed infection or ulcers; or made into Ranunculus ternatus Vaseline gauze, suitable for drainage or filling fistula. No side effects were found during the treatment. One hundred and twenty-four patients were followed up for 1 to 2 years. The long-term effect was observed. Four cases recurred, all of which were distant recurrences. Ranunculus ternatus can also be made into injection for intramuscular injection, 2-4 ml each time, twice a day, still combined with local routine treatment. 110 cases were observed and the cure rate was 90%.
