Climbing vines perennial. Tender stems covered with white pubescence and red glandular hairs, stems dark purple, longitudinally ribbed. Leaves alternate, ovate or long ovate, 11-16 cm long, 10-13 cm wide, apex acute or acuminate, base heart-shaped, entire, green above, pubescent, densely distributed along veins, dark green below; tender leaves dark brown red, densely covered with red glandular hairs, densely pubescent along veins; petiole 4-5 cm long, tendril lateral, apex two. Flowers unisexual, dioecious; inflorescence stalk, petiole, sepals, petals are pilose and glandular hair; male flowers axillary, 5-7 arranged in racemose; bracts 1, rectangular round; calyx 5 lobed, lobes with linear pointed tail; petals 5, pale yellow, reddish, ovate, about 2 cm long, apex with pointed tail; stamens 3, anthers separated. Female flowers solitary in leaf axils, apex of calyx tube 5-lobed; petals 5-obovate, apex short pointed, ovary inferior, connate with calyx tube, style 3, stigma 2-divergent, staminodes 3.
