[plant morphology] Sonneratia variegata
Erect herbs. Stem cylindrical, base woody, covered with brown pubescence. Leaves opposite, slightly unequal, ovate lanceolate to oblong, 3-9 cm long and 1-3 cm wide, apex acuminate and obtuse, base cuneate, margin serrate, green above, with oval white spots, purplish red below, midrib abaxially raised, lateral veins 2-3 pairs obvious; petiole 1-2.5 cm long, covered with brown short hairs. One side of raceme is Scorpion shaped, with 3 petals, red and funnel-shaped calyx tube. Capsule cup-shaped, apically 3-lobed.
It grows in the sparse forest and grass on the tropical hillside in the south of Honghe Prefecture.
