Roadside Chrysanthemum

[plant morphology] Cynodon rotundifolia
Annual herb, 1.5-60 cm high. The upper part is branched and covered with spreading hairs. The leaves are long and narrow or spoon shaped, the lower leaves often have round teeth, the upper leaves are often entire, and the apex is obtuse or round. The inflorescence is solitary at the end of the branch; the involucre has 2-3 layers and the apex is obtuse; the tongue flower has 1 layer, the tongue is light purple or blue, the tube flower is yellow, and one of the 5 lobes is long. Corolla slightly reddish brown.
It grows on the beach, hillside and forest edge. It is distributed in Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai and Gansu.

Bitter, cold.
[function indications] detoxification, anti inflammation, cough. Treat cold, cough, sore throat, snake bite.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 3-4 yuan. External use: tamping.
