[chemical composition] it contains 38.64-40.98% cellulose, 17.27-19.66% pentosan, 32.42-30.36% lignin, 2.20-2.00% ash and 9.47-7.00% moisture.
Sweet, cold and nontoxic.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 0.5-1 Liang (2-4 Liang fresh).
[selected formula] cough has slight heat, upset, heart nail wrong, is for lung carbuncle: reed stem two liters (cut, with water two Dou, boil five liters, to dross), coix seed half liter, Huairen 30 pieces, melon half liter.
