Flowers 1-2, axillary with leaves, purplish red, 2.5-3.5 cm in diameter; pedicel less than 2 cm long; sepals 3, broadly ovate, about 5 mm long; petals 6, 2-whorled, similar to inner and outer whorls, ovoid, apex obtuse, about 13 mm long; stamens numerous, oblong; stamens numerous, carpels stellate hairy, stigma apex 2-lobed and involute. Mature carpels ovoid or short cylindrical, stellate hairy or glabrous, dark purple brown, 8-20 mm long, 7-10 mm wide, apex acuminate. Seeds globose, smooth. The flowering period is from March to August. The fruit period is from July to March next year.
