Huamutong
(commonly used Chinese herbal medicine in Tibet)
[source] it is the woody stem of Clematis pseudostigmata (Ranunculaceae).
[plant morphology] Clematis pseudostigmata
Woody vines. Leaves opposite; 2-3-compound; leaflets ovate, margin a few serrate, green above, pale green below, sparsely pubescent. Flowers axillary; perianth segments 4, petaloid, white. Achenes numerous, with persistent feathery styles.
In mountain forests or shrubs. It is distributed in Tibet.
[collection] harvest from August to October, scrape off the skin, slice and dry in the sun.
Cold in nature and bitter in taste.
[function indications] clearing away heat and diuresis. Treatment of edema, cystitis, urethritis, sore tongue, dysentery, prolapse of anus, milk barrier.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-3 yuan.
