[animal form] red lady

It is small and similar to cicada, 15-25 mm in length and 5-7 mm in width. The head and chest were black with vermilion lips. There are compound eyes on both sides of the head, large and prominent, mixed with dark brown patches; 1 pair of antennae, located in the front between the compound eyes. The anterior sternal plate is narrow in front and wide in back, black; the middle sternal plate is black. There are two large plaques on the left and right sides, which are scarlet; the male has a buzzer on both sides of the posterior chest web. Wings 2 pairs, long, gelatinous, black forewings, brown hindwings, glossy, dark brown veins, distinct. Foot 3 pairs, dark brown, robust. The abdomen is blood red and the base is black; the female has a black brown ovipositing tube.

Most of them live in hilly area, adults live in low bush and cannot fly high, nymphs live in uncultivated sandy soil. It is distributed in Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, etc.

Hongniangzi and Ailanthus altissima are two kinds of insects of different families and genera in modern zoology. Or cloud "looks like cold?", or cloud "looks like silkworm moth". "Cold" is a cicada, cloud like "cold" is quite similar to the cicadae red lady; the "silkworm moth" is very similar to the ailanthus of Ailanthus.
