[plant morphology] cypress branch
Deciduous shrub, 1-2m high. Stem erect, with many branches, smooth. Leaves alternate, scaly, long lanceolate or lanceolate, 2-9 mm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide, apex obtuse or acute, glandular punctate, bluish green. Inflorescence terminal; bracts ovate lanceolate, acuminate, base with broad membranous margin; sepals 5, lanceolate, ca. 4 mm long, apex obtuse, with dry membranous margin; petals 5, pink, white or purplish red, oblong elliptic, longer than calyx; stamens 10, 5 long and 5 short, alternate, filaments united, half of long filaments; ovary ovate, with stout style, stigma capitate. The fruit is 3-valved. Seeds with white tufts of stalks.
Born at the edge of water and the beach. Distributed in Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Tibet, Shanxi, Yunnan and other places.
[collection] harvest in spring and summer. Cut the twigs to dry.
