Annual erect herb, 20-40 cm high, fragrant. Stem purplish red, upper part white pilose. Leaves simple, alternate, pinnate, lobes alternate, apex pointed, base cuneate, margin deeply lobed, doubly serrate, both sides hairy. The inflorescence is small, arranged in a panicle, terminal; the involucre is hemispherical, bracts are 2-3 rows; the flowers are purple red, yellow after ripening; the marginal flowers are female, filiform, 2-toothed; the disk flowers are bisexual, 5-lobed. Achenes small, oblong, smooth. The seed has no corolla.
