The body length is about 18.5 cm. Both sexes are similar. The upper body is mostly metallic blue black; the back neck has a chestnut collar ring; the waist is chestnut yellow, forming a wide belt, and each feather is slightly decorated with black dry lines. Both wings are black brown except the small and middle compound feathers are the same as the back. The eyes are brown and gray, and the feather ends are black; the ear feathers are dark brown; there is a chestnut eyebrow line from the top of the eyes, extending to the side of the neck and connecting with the collar ring of the same color of the back neck. The lower part of the body is white and brown, covered with black feather lines; these longitudinal lines are thick and dense in the chin and throat, and gradually thin and sparse backward; the tip of the compound feather under the tail is brilliant blue black. Brown to dark brown; dark brown to dark brown.
Most of them live in mountainous villages. It propagates in the central and eastern part of China in summer and migrates to the south for winter in autumn.
