Flowers solitary, axillary or slightly clustered; epicalyx 5-lobed, lobes triangular; calyx 5-lobed, lobes smaller than epicalyx, both surfaces covered with stellate hairs; petals 5, pink, elliptic, base connected with stamen tube; stamens united, filaments connected into tubes, stoma with shallow teeth, anthers purplish red; pistil 1, style cylindrical, apex 10 lobed, stigma capitate, red, covered with short hairs, ovary 5 Ovule 1 per locule. The root of Xiao fansmallpox, a variety of coarse leaf fansmallpox, is also used as medicine in Guangxi folk. It is locally called tiebaojin and Wuyun gaixue.

Take 1 jin fresh peach root, wash and slice, add water to decoct for 2 times, filter, mix and concentrate the solution to 500ml, add 1.5g sodium benzoate, bottle for later use. 80 ml per day for 1-3 years old, 120 ml for 4-9 years old, 200 ml for 10-15 years old and 250 ml for over 16 years old. A total of 73 cases were treated, 69 cases were clinically cured, 10 cases were improved, 3 cases were invalid and 1 case was unknown. The average cure time (59 cases) was 4.5 days, the longest was 12 days. Among the 5 patients with fever, 1 case dropped to normal within 8 hours, 3 cases reduced fever within 24 hours, 1 case reduced fever within 48 hours, 67 cases had abdominal pain, 36 cases disappeared within 24 hours after taking medicine, and most of purulent stool and diarrhea disappeared within 3 days.
