Erect perennial herbs. The root is straight strip, the surface is earthy brown, the root head is densely covered with light brown Tricholoma, and there are petiole residues, and the lateral roots are mostly slender. The basal leaves are long petiole, 7.5-12 cm long, ovate, 7-10 cm long, 3-5 cm wide, apex short, base gradually narrowed, extending into broad wings, leaf margin and wings are sparsely spiny teeth, under dense white villi; cauline leaves alternate, oblanceolate, 5 cm long; the leaves at the base of inflorescence are bracteate. The stem is 50-90 cm high, about 3 mm in diameter, densely covered with white villi; the inflorescence is sparsely arranged, the involucre is 3-4 rows, with purplish red halo and dura, and there are several tubular flowers in each inflorescence. Achene small, apex crested.
It grows on hillside and thicket. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.
