Evergreen shrubs. Leaves alternate, clustered at the apex; leaves lanceolate, leathery; petiolate. Flowers bisexual, terminal panicle; florets with slender petioles, 3 membranous bracteoles at the base; corolla tubular, lobes 6; stamens 6, filaments filiform, anthers dorsal; ovary 3-locular. Berries globose. It blooms in summer.
Cultivated or wild. It is distributed in Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan and Taiwan.

[function indications] hemostasis. It is used to treat hemoptysis, hematemesis, hematemesis, bleeding in urine and feces, asthma, dysentery, infantile malnutrition, traumatic bleeding.
