Shrub, more than 1 m high. Stem erect, branched. Leaves alternate, leathery; ovate elliptic, 5-9 cm long, 2.4-4.5 cm wide, apex caudate, base rounded, entire, pinnate, lateral veins 7 pairs, curved, glabrous on both sides; petiole short and thick, less than 3 mm long. Raceme arranged in panicle, axillary, with 15-25 flowers; pedicel 4.8 mm long; bracteoles narrow, linear, about 7 mm long, apex subulate; bracteoles ovate, covered with buds, 8-11 mm long, apex pointed, brown; bracts both large and small fall off at flowering; corolla short bell shaped, about 6 mm in diameter, green with lavender halo; petals 5. Berry subglobose with persistent calyx. Seeds irregularly triangular, surface pale brown. It blooms in early summer.
Born at the foot of the mountain and under the forest. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.
