[plant morphology] Celastrus grandis
Woody vines. The stem is green, the tendril is opposite to the leaf, there are 5-8 slender branches, the terminal sucker is usually a black thick hook. Palmate compound leaves alternate, leaflets 5, obovate or elliptic, 5-8 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin above middle sparsely serrate, glabrous below or pubescent on veins. Cymes arranged in panicles at leaf axils; calyx shallow discoid, entire; petals 5, long ovate; stamens 5; style cylindrical, ovary 2-locular. The berries are small and round.
It is distributed in the middle and south of China.

Functions and indications: Shujin Huoluo, Xiaozhong Sanyu, Jiegu. Treatment of traumatic injury, fracture, rheumatoid arthritis, lumbar muscle strain, limb arthralgia.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: soak wine, 1-2 Liang. External use: tamping or powder mixing.
