[plant morphology] Chenopodium acutum
Annual herbs. The height is 15-40 cm. Stem erect, cylindrical, slightly ribbed, white green, reddish when old, usually glabrous, branched, spreading, lower branch longer, upper branch shorter. Leaves alternate, strip or lanceolate, 2.5-5.5 cm long, 3-7 mm wide, apex acute or obtuse, base attenuate, entire, glabrous. Main veins distinct; petioles inconspicuous. Dichotomous cyme, with many and dense branches, spiny awn at the apex of branches, many flowers, small, solitary, nearly sessile, in the axils of awn like branchlets; perianth segments 5, narrowly oblong, slightly ridged, green on the back, with white margin or reddish margin, incurved. Utricle round, apex compressed; pericarp membranous. Seeds transverse, margin angular, dark brown. The fruit ripens from August to October.
It grows on sandy land and roadside, and is cultivated weed. Distributed in Jilin, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Ningxia, Henan, Hebei and other places.
