Perennial short herbs, 10-16 cm high. The rhizome is short, erect or obliquely growing, with several roots under it, tufted, thin and curved. Stem erect. Unbranched, densely pubescent. 2-3 pinnate compound leaves opposite; leaf outline is ovate, 10-16 mm long, lobes narrow, linear, or linear lanceolate, both sides are densely covered with coarse hairs. Flowers solitary, axillary, sessile or shortly petiolate; without bracteoles; calyx campanulate, 5-lobed, lobes short; corolla yellow, 2-lipped, ca. 10 mm long, upper lip short galeate, lower lip 3-lobed, outstretched, lobes obtuse. Capsule compressed, beaked, septate. It blooms in summer.
Born on hillside and grass. It is distributed in Southwest China.
