Annual herb, 15-50 cm high. The stem is prostrate or oblique, the basal part has many branches, with obvious nodes and longitudinal grooves; the young branches are slightly angular. Leaves alternate; petioles short, about 2-3 mm, also near sessile; leaf blade lanceolate to elliptic, 5-16 mm long, 1.5-5 mm wide, apex obtuse or pointed, base cuneate, entire, green, glabrous on both sides; stipules membranous, amplexicaul, lower part green, upper part transparent, colorless, with obvious veins, most of the parallel veins often extending into filamentous lobes. 6-10 flowers clustered in leaf axils; pedicel short; bracts and bracteoles are white hyaline membrane; perianth green, 5-lobed, with white margin, pink margin after fruiting; stamens usually 8, filaments short; ovary rectangular, style short, stigma 3.
