Zhang Yongli
Zhang Yongli (1912-1972) was born in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. Famous physicist. In his early years, he studied in Guiyang Zhengyi primary school and model middle school. In 1931, he was admitted to the Mathematics Department of Shanghai Sinian University. In 1935, he went to Belgium to study at the University of Reuven and obtained a doctorate in mathematics. In 1939, he returned to China and successively served as a professor of Shanghai Sinian University and Daxia University. In 1941, he returned to Guiyang as professor and head of the Department of mathematics and physics of the Institute of science and technology of Guizhou University, Professor of Guiyang Normal University, chairman of the Guizhou branch of the Chinese Astronomical Society. Together with Xie Liuyi, he presided over the editorial work of Wentong publishing house and edited the series of Applied Science. Later, he went to Yunnan University to give lectures. He was employed as the director of the teaching and research section of Optics and theoretical physics in the Physics Department of Yunnan University, member of the theoretical physics Committee of the Chinese Physics Society, and vice president of the Yunnan Physics Society. He died in Kunming on October 24, 1972. He is the author of preliminary vector calculation, introduction to relativity, cosmic ray and vibration of ethylene molecule.
At the end of 1930s, he published two papers "cone of cosmic rays infinitely near the equator" and "track of cosmic rays near the equator" in the establishment of cone theory of cosmic ray distribution. These are the core achievements of cone theory research. Therefore, he, together with FCM Stuart, ah Compton, GE lemet, etc., are known as the eight founders of equatorial cone theory of cosmic rays. In 1949, he was employed as a professor in the Department of physics of Yunnan University and director of the teaching and research group of Optics and theoretical physics in the Department of physics of Yunnan University. He has been teaching quantum mechanics in the Physics Department of Yunnan University for a long time, and is one of the earliest professors to open this course in Colleges and universities in China after liberation. Mr. Zhang wrote an introduction to the theory of relativity, which is rich in content, natural in introducing concepts and formulas, concise and concise in simple words, and fully reflects Mr. Zhang's profound academic level. Mr. Zhang is very knowledgeable and has profound theoretical cultivation. His physical logic makes the audience like a magnet. He is an important founder and pioneer of theoretical physics in Yunda.
