Didao

Didao, located in Lintao County, Gansu Province, is the ancestral home of Li family in Longxi and the hometown of Li Tang.

Before the Zhou Dynasty, it was called Longxi City, and during the Warring States period and Qin Dynasty, it was called Didao. In 279 B.C., King Zhao of Qin Dynasty set up Longxi County, and the county governance was in Didao (now Lintao County, Gansu Province).

Records in ancient books

Didao County

The old city is in the southwest of Lintao County, Gansu Province. In the Sixteen States of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Wushi county. Before Sui Dynasty, Lintao County refers to today's Min county. In 618, Emperor Gong of Sui Dynasty changed Lintao county to minzhou, and fuyile county was named as the state government. After that, minzhou became the stable appellation of Minxian. In the early Tang Dynasty, Linzhou was set up, and then didaojun was set up. After an Shi rebellion, he fell into Tubo. In the Five Dynasties, Tubo set up the military area of wusheng. During the song and Jin Dynasties, Lintao Prefecture was set up in Didao County, and Didao county was also the seat of Longxi County for a long time. In yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Lintao Prefecture was set up to govern Di Dao. Qianlong five years (1740), moved the government to rule in Lanzhou, shengdidaozhou, in February of the Republic of China to county. In January 1929, Didao county was renamed Lintao county.

From the Warring States period to the Qin and Han Dynasties, the jurisdiction of Longxi County is about the vast area of central Gansu, Southern Ningxia and Eastern Qinghai. Didao has always been the political, military, economic and cultural center of Longxi County. Therefore, the earliest Longxi County established in ancient times is today's Lintao county (Longxi County was moved to Longxi County in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, and changed to gongchang Prefecture after the fall of the Tang Dynasty. During the Taihe period of the later Wei Dynasty, the Li family in Longxi was named as the most famous family in the world. Li Yuan, the sun of the seventh generation, was the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty. At that time, the "Li family in Longxi" had already formed a prosperous situation of "Li's thirteen outlooks, with Longxi as the first". It has been two thousand and three hundred years since Li Chong was the first governor of Longxi Prefecture, Didao. The Li family of Longxi has been living in the hot land of Lintao, and has spread all over the world. It has become the world's largest family name with more than 100 million people. It has become a great figure in history and has made great contributions to the prosperity of the Chinese nation.

The ancestral home of Li's family in Longxi is Didao (now Lintao), one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, a famous historical and cultural city in Western China, an important town of the Silk Road, and an important hub of the Tang and Tibetan ancient roads. Lintao is also the hometown of painted pottery, which is famous for the discovery of Majiayao, Xindian and Siwa cultures in Lintao. In order to carry forward Li's culture, enhance national cohesion and serve the modernization construction, the Lintao friendship Research Association of Li's ancestral home in Longxi came into being. This association has been established for ten years. After textual research, the ancestral home of Li family in Longxi is Didao (now Lintao County, Gansu Province). It has published four issues of internal materials "friendship and research". It has made extensive contact with the Li Family Association in Taiwan, the Li family's general office in dunzong, Fujian, and the Li family associations at home and abroad, and exchanged relevant information with each other. In 2001, Li Zheng, a descendant of Li family in Longxi, Shenyang City, came to Tao to find his roots. He presented a stone statue of Laozi to Longxi, Li's hometown.

At present, Lintao still preserves the relics of the great wall of the Warring States period and Qin dynasty built when Li Er Laozi, the ancestor of the Li family, ascended to Fengtai, the ancestral home of the Li family, lived in Huaili village, and Li Chong, the first ancestor of the Li family, was the governor of Longxi County. The earliest extant Tomb of the Li family, the tomb group of Li Zhongxiang family of Taiwei in the Western Han Dynasty (Gansu provincial cultural relics protection unit), and the epitaph of "Li family in Lintao" rooted in Didao. Today, in Lintao, there are more than 70 villages named after Li, with 15000 households and more than 80000 people, accounting for about one seventh of the county's population.
