He is a monk of Huanglong sect of Linji Zong in Northern Song Dynasty. His common surname is Zheng and his name is yun'an. He was born in Wenxiang County of Kaizhou (Wenxiang County of Henan Province). At the beginning, he became a monk in Fuzhou (Hubei Province) Beita Guanggong. Later, he became a monk in Huinan, Huang longcui. Because of its sharp edge, it is called wenguanxi. The temples of Dongshan temple, Shengshou temple and Baofeng temple in jugao'an are highly praised by the prime ministers Wang Anshi and Zhang Shangying.
