In the autumn of 1924, he joined Tang Shengzhi's army. Unable to tolerate the corruption of the old army, he returned to his hometown six months later. In the autumn of 1925, when Huarong was hit by a severe drought, he organized a famine self-help Association, led the masses to beat the rice police who took advantage of the fire, smashed the rice cards in Banqiao and other places, and cracked down on the unscrupulous merchants who raised the price of rice. In August 1925, according to the deployment of Huarong party and League joint branch, a demonstrative peasant association was established in ZhenRen township to carry out the peasant movement. The organization of peasant litigation group prompted the County Department to suppress a big evil gentry named Fu. In this regard, Mao Zedong once spoke highly of "one, shake the whole county, eliminate the remaining evils of feudalism, very effective" in the article "investigation report of Hunan Peasant Movement". In August 1926, he joined the Communist Party of China. In October, he was elected vice chairman of Huarong County farmers association. He led the peasant self-defense army and peasant volunteer army to repel the attacks of Sichuan army many times and eliminate several bandits. After the failure of the great revolution, he went to Wuhan to look for the party organization. Unfortunately, he was caught in Yueyang by an escaped evil gentry. On July 4, 1927, he died in Yueyang.
