He went to the UK to study in London School of economics in 1919 and went to Oxford University in 1922. In 1922, he took part in a delegation sent by the Beiyang government to Britain, the United States and Japan. After returning to China, he was determined to engage in industrial construction, but he failed to do so because he was in the period of warlord scuffle at that time. In 1928, Qian Changzhao served as secretary of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the national government, in 1929 as secretary of the national government, in 1930 as Deputy General of the Ministry of education, and in 1932 as Deputy Secretary General of the national defense design Commission. Since then, the national defense Design Committee has been transformed into a Resources Committee, with Comrade Qian Changzhao as its vice chairman. During the Anti Japanese War, he cooperated with Chairman Weng Wenhao, absorbed and trained a large number of construction talents, set up a number of industrial and mining enterprises in the rear, and organized forces to explore various resources, making positive contributions to developing wartime production and supporting the Anti Japanese war. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Comrade Qian Changzhao was appointed chairman of the resources committee. He and vice chairman Sun Yueqi jointly planned to carry out economic construction, develop resources and enhance national strength. But the KMT authorities deliberately launched a civil war, which made their plan impossible. In the autumn of 1948, he went abroad to Britain, France and Belgium to investigate industrial production. Comrade Qian Changzhao was greatly encouraged when he learned the news of the victory of the liberation war abroad. He decided to return to the motherland. With the help of the relevant parties of the Communist Party of China, he arrived in Peking in June 1949 from Hong Kong and was received by Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai and Zhu De. Especially in the aspect of economic construction, he put forward many valuable suggestions, which were valued and adopted by the government. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Comrade Qian Changzhao wholeheartedly agreed with the reform and opening up, made painstaking field investigations, and put forward good suggestions for the development of Hainan Island. He attached great importance to education and thought that education was the foundation of our country. Even when he was critically ill, he still kept on developing Hainan and education. This spirit is very valuable. Comrade Qian Changzhao has always been committed to the cause of the peaceful reunification of the motherland. He has written a large number of poems and published many talks. He hopes that his relatives and friends in Taiwan and abroad will work hard to promote the peaceful reunification of the motherland. In recent years, he is sincerely gratified by the relaxed atmosphere on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Regardless of his old age and infirmity, he has personally received many relatives and friends from Taiwan and abroad, explained policies to them realistically, introduced the situation, dispelled doubts, and enhanced consensus. He had a firm belief in the reunification of the motherland until the last breath of his life. Comrade Qian Changzhao was an outstanding leader of the Central Committee of the democratic revolution and made an important contribution to the growth and development of the revolution. He attached great importance to the role of the democratic revolution in the multi-party cooperation under the leadership of the patriotic united front and the Communist Party, and devoted a lot of energy to it. He cherished the glorious tradition of the democratic revolution, educated party members to adhere to the correct political direction, gave full play to the advantages of the democratic revolution, and worked hard to serve the socialist modernization and the cause of the reunification of the motherland. He was concerned about the growth of the younger generation of Party members, and encouraged them to inherit the political morality and work style of the older generation, so that the cause of the democratic revolution could be carried on. Comrade Qian Changzhao has always cherished deep feelings for the Communist Party of China, respected the leadership of the Communist Party of China, cooperated closely with the Communist Party of China, and persisted in learning Marxism Leninism and Mao Zedong thought. He sincerely supported the line, principles and policies since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, spoke highly of the great achievements made in the ten years of reform and opening up, and believed that without reform, there would be no way out for China. He firmly believes that the difficulties and problems in the process of reform can be overcome under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. His death is a great loss to the patriotic united front and the democratic revolution. We mourn Comrade Qian Changzhao for holding high the banner of patriotism and socialism, uniting forces from all sides, enhancing the cohesion of the patriotic united front, maintaining the political situation of stability and unity, conscientiously implementing the decision of the Third Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Central Committee, and striving for the victory of governing the economic environment, rectifying economic order, and comprehensively deepening reform.

Qian Shixiang, the son of Qian Changzhao, recalls that this year marks the 100th anniversary of his father's birth and the 20th consecutive year of Shen Xingyuan scholarship. The scholarship is the first private scholarship established by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and was renamed Qian Changzhao and Shen Xingyuan scholarship in 1999. During the Anti Japanese War, his father Qian Changzhao lived in the humble Office of Niujiaotuo Resources Committee of Shangqing temple in Chongqing, commanding, managing and operating the state-owned industrial enterprises (Institutions) in the rear area. In order to avoid the Japanese bombing, my mother Shen Xingyuan and I lived in a stone bungalow in the suburb of Gele Mountain. After liberation, I learned from my father's "three evils and five evils" confession that the money for building the house was borrowed from Mr. Sun Yueqi. It was not until 1945 that we paid off uncle sun's loan. It also made me understand why my mother was so frugal in those years. At the east end of the bungalow is a living room (with dining room). On the east wall is an oil painting that Mr. Xu Beihong copied for his grandfather (it's a pity that my mother and I didn't bring it to Hong Kong when we fled from Taipei in 1949). On both sides is a couplet that my father described the scenery in the mountains: "the scenery of the mountains is blurred, the dynasty is changing, and the East is surging for a few days". It's impossible to find out who wrote it. I remember Mr. Cao Yu (I call him) When he came to my humble abode in the mountains and wrote a memorial book for me, it was changed to "blurred mountain scenery needs to change, turbulent Oriental means the sun is clear". It was 1943, and the Pacific War had begun, which means that the day of the fall of the rampant little Japan is not far away. There is a fireplace on the north wall, but it's just the ears of the deaf. It never smokes. There is a piece of marble hanging above the fireplace. It is still hanging in my bedroom. both parents are hospitable, and father often takes guests to stay in the mountains. Whenever Chinese and foreign guests come, mother will show her cooking skills and unique dishes. I remember that when President Roosevelt's adviser latymore and the world-famous dam design expert Dr. Savannah came to Geleshan, their mother squeezed the tomatoes planted by her own hands with gauze to make a drink. This is also a rare fresh drink in the enemy's rear capital! In addition, her Wenwu meat (beef and pork stew) is often praised. Performing the march of the volunteers for the guests is a reserved program arranged by my mother for me, and asking the guests to write inscriptions for me as a memento is my homework. when I first arrived at Geleshan, my mother didn't let me go to school, but taught me in person. To tell you the truth, I'm really afraid to eat her "board" (when I'm going to make a mistake, I'm bound to wring my ass with my hand). In order to let me have the opportunity and interest to go out, it is required to collect two different plant specimens every day.
