Wang Qingfang
Wang Qingfang (1900-1956), born in Xiaoxian County, Anhui Province, is a professor of the Central Academy of fine arts. He was good at flower and bird, landscape and seal cutting. Influenced by his elder brother Wang Ziyun, a famous master of Fine Arts in China, he was admitted to Nanjing Normal School in 1921 to study fine arts. In 1923, he transferred to Beiping Art College and studied with Li kuchan and other famous scholars. In 1927, he held a personal painting exhibition in the art college and taught flower and bird lessons with Yan Bolong. Wang Qingfang was like Qi Baishi, and Mr. Baishi and Wang Qingfang were often friends Many of Mr. Baishi's seals were carved by Mr. Qingfang. In the 1930s and 1940s, he was called "four monsters in Beijing" when he was with Jiang Yunong, Li kuchan and Bai duozhai (Wu Changshuo's disciple).

Wang Qingfang is not only a famous Chinese painter, but also a printmaker and seal cutter, who is the owner of Wanban. Woodcut is mainly composed of figures, especially ancient figures. From the three emperors and five emperors to the Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern historical figures, there are more than 3000 woodcut figures. Since the early 1930s, Wang Qingfang has been engaged in the new woodcut movement and participated in a series of major activities such as the Beiping woodcut Research Association, the Pingjin woodcut joint exhibition and the national woodcut joint exhibition. In the 1930s and 1940s, there was no one in Pingjin area to compare the content, quantity and influence of his works. He created a unique woodcut art form of "poetry with painting" by combining traditional woodcut forms with new contents, and then sang with friends and poems. A large number of anecdotes and historical materials were preserved, which made people feel novel. After 1932, Wang Qingfang promoted the establishment of "Beiping woodcut Research Association" with his art and culture middle school as the center. From August 26 to 31, 1934, the "calligraphy, painting and Print Exhibition" was opened in the art and culture middle school. Yu Dafu, a writer living in Beiping, visited the exhibition and published an inscription in Beichen Bao, praising Wang Qingfang for his "Wang family, talented people". In 1945, his good friend painter Jiang Yunong and Qi Baishi founded and published the semimonthly of saiguang, advocating the development of the northwest and caring about the people's life in the northwest. the cover of each issue of Wang Qingfang is rigid. He Kezhi, the first mayor of Beiping, inscribes the word "Yihai" made by Qi Baishi as the title of the Art Edition - "Yihai" written by Baishi Laoren. It belongs to Baishi, 85 years old.
