Nie Hualing
Nie Hualing (January 11, 1925 -), female, born in Yingshan, Hubei Province (now Guangshui City, Hubei Province), graduated from the Department of foreign languages, National Central University in 1948. In the same year, she published her first article "amoeba" under her pseudonym. Living in the United States in 1964, he applied for a job in the writer's studio in Washington, USA. He taught in the University of Iowa and engaged in writing and painting at the same time. He was known as "the architect of the world painting organization" and "the first of the world literature organization" because he founded the international writer's writing room.
His representative works include the short stories "Emerald cat", "a little white flower", "anecdotes of Taiwan", the long novels "lost Jinlingzi", "beyond the mountains, flowing water", "sangqing and Taohong", the prose collection "Menggu collection", "thirty years later", and the translation collection "Baihua collection".
As of 2018, more than 1400 writers and poets from more than 150 countries and regions have been invited to participate in the "international writing program" project founded by Nie Hualing and his wife, including more than 50 from mainland China after the reform and opening up.
In 1976, more than 300 writers from all over the world jointly nominated angel and Nie Hualing as candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Personal experience
He was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province on January 11, 1925.
In 1939, he studied in Hubei union middle school, and then entered Sichuan Changshou national No.12 Middle School. After graduation, he was admitted to the Department of foreign languages of Central University in Chongqing. He graduated in 1948 and published articles under the pseudonym of "Siyuan".
In 1949, he went to Taiwan with his mother, brother and sister. He was a member of "free China" and editor in chief of literature and art. In 1960, the magazine was closed and the host Lei Zhen was arrested. She lost her teaching job at Taiwan law and business school and was isolated from the outside world.

On Chiang Kai Shek's 70th birthday in 1956, free China published articles criticizing Chiang Kai Shek in seven editions, which caused a sensation all over the world and angered the authorities. Lei Zhen was arrested in 1960. On September 4 of the same year, the military and police broke into Nie Hualing's house and arrested Fu Zheng, who lived next door.
Although Nie was not arrested, she has been under surveillance for the next two years. It is detailed in the section "September 4, 1960". At that time, her daughter, LAN LAN, was playing the piano. In the clash next door, she asked her daughter to continue playing. "Lan Lan continues to play. The more she plays, the more boring she is.". Nie Hualing wrote: "I looked at her and thought to myself: I hope the next generation will not have this kind of fear."

In 1967, Chinese American writer Nie Hualing and her husband founded the "international writing program" in Iowa City, Central American state of Iowa.
