Zhou Zhe

Zhou Zhe, whose English name is Jeremy, was born in Chaoshan, Guangdong Province in 1976. He moved to Hong Kong when he was a primary school and graduated from Stanford University with a master's degree in electrical engineering in 2000.

In 2000, he was the first group of employees and the earliest Chinese to join Google. He was responsible for developing 60% of Google AdWords and writing Google's first line of Java code. In 2008, he left Google to become an angel investor and successfully invested in many projects such as Lanting Jishi, among which Lanting Jishi was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2013.

In 2014, he co founded Jide technology with two other former Google engineers and served as CEO, aiming to create a better mobile device experience.

In 2006, Zhou zhe went on a business trip to Google Beijing, where he participated in the development of Google local search (collective map search) and google music, and maintained some products of the U.S. headquarters, including Google Talk, javarpc, etc. He is also responsible for new employee training, including engineer and interview training.

When Google went public in 2004, Zhou zhe was already financially free. He has been planning to leave Google. At that time, China was affected by the U.S. financial crisis; Zhou zhe was also affected by the entrepreneurship of his colleagues and the development of the domestic Internet. In 2008, Zhou zhe left Google and began to make angel investment. In that year, he invested in three projects. "I want to be an angel investor before I leave Google."

Angel investment

As an angel investor, Zhou zhe has set his own unique standard: he will never hold any shares and will not participate in the daily operation and management of the company. However, he is willing to provide help as long as the target needs, including borrowing interest free to help fund turnover, and even providing his own car as a reception vehicle. The money is his own and he can make quick decisions. Not only the pursuit of return, more important is risk aversion. And he thinks he is a patient investor.

Because of the products and technologies he has worked in Google for eight years, Zhou zhe prefers to invest in projects that "others can't understand but I can". Since 2008, Zhou zhe has invested in a large number of projects, mainly Internet and software: e-commerce, enterprise software, mobile phone software, Internet B2B tools, cloud computing server management. There is also investment in traditional industries, but it is relatively small.

As for the feeling of being an investor, Zhou zhe commented that "in the past, I used to do my own thing well at Google. I don't have to worry too much about other people's things. It's all my own business. It seems that they used to be children of other people's families. If they are good, they can ignore them. If they are children of their own families, they have to teach them slowly when they go home. They have to do everything by themselves. "

Zhou Zhe's investment is good at analysis and thinking. In 2014, Zhou Zhe and two other former Google geek engineers founded Jide technology. He didn't want to sell his feelings and wanted to make the technology better serve everyone. He didn't dare to say that he would change the world, but rather wanted to make people realize that the world can be changed.

Jide technology focuses on mobile OS and mobile devices. Other members of the company come from Google, Microsoft, St Ericsson, Baidu and other companies. Zhou zhe co founded the company with two other partners. Mr. Gao Heng, Bachelor of computer engineering, University of Washington, USA, is responsible for the research and development of Google Finance, Google Suggest, Google AdWords, web crawling, cloud input method and other projects. Mr. Lu Yunsheng holds a master's degree in computer engineering from Stanford University. Worked in Microsoft and Oracle.
