Zhu Qingshi
Zhu Qingshi, male, chemist and natural scientist, was born in Chengdu on February 7, 1946. His native place is Pengxian County, Sichuan Province. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He once served as the seventh president of University of science and technology of China and the founding president of Southern University of science and technology. He was a visiting scholar, visiting scientist and visiting professor in the University of California, Brookhaven laboratory, National Research Institute of Canada and University of Paris. He also worked as a visiting researcher of Royal Society in Cambridge, Oxford and University of Nottingham.
He graduated from the Department of modern physics, University of science and technology of China in 1968. In 2012, he was elected "voice of the year of China's education". In 1991, he was elected member (academician) of the academic department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
During his term as president of China University of science and technology, Zhu Qingshi devoted himself to planning and organizing the university to build a first-class university in the 21st century, and effectively promoted the reform and development of teaching, scientific research, management and logistics services. During the period when he was employed as president of South University of science and technology, he innovatively launched the school running mode of "first try, independent enrollment, self degree, self diploma", and became a hot topic in China's education reform.

Born in Chengdu on February 7, 1946. In 1963, he graduated from Chengdu Huaxi middle school (formerly Chengdu No.13 middle school). In 1968, he graduated from the Department of modern physics of University of science and technology of China. in December 1968, he was assigned to work in Shanchuan Machine Tool Foundry in Xining, Qinghai, and worked as a worker and planner successively. in December 1974, he was transferred to Qinghai Salt Lake Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and began to engage in the major project research of laser isotope separation. In 1996, he became the project leader and academic leader. In 1979, Zhu Qingshi became one of the first batch of overseas students after the reform and opening up, and returned to China in 1982. in August 1984, he was transferred to Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and successively served as project leader, research director, associate researcher and researcher. In 1987, he was a researcher of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1991, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In July 1994, he began to engage in teaching and scientific research in the University of science and technology of China, and presided over the establishment of the Key Laboratory of selective bond chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In August 1996, he was vice president of University of science and technology of China. In June 1998, he was president of University of science and technology of China. In May 1999, he served as a member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. In 2001, he was elected to the Third World Academy of Sciences. in September 2008, he resigned as president of University of science and technology of China. successively served as deputy to the eighth and Ninth National People's Congress, member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and specially invited researcher of the Counselor's office of the State Council. in February 2009, he was officially employed as a professor of Sichuan University and began to work as a doctoral student in September. in September 2009, he was appointed president of South University of science and technology by Shenzhen municipal government. in July 2011, he was the (temporary) party secretary of South University of science and technology. in January 2014, he no longer concurrently served as secretary of the Committee of Southern University of science and technology of the Communist Party of China. in September 2014, he resigned as president of South University of science and technology.

Achievements in scientific research
In the study of molecular local mode vibration, a series of high-resolution spectra of high overtone vibrational dynamics have been observed and analyzed successfully. A series of theories of local mode vibration rotational spectroscopy have been established. The above-mentioned high-resolution spectra have been analyzed completely. The possibility and conditions of the existence of single vibrational eigenstates in polyatomic molecules have also been demonstrated. In recent years, we have initiated the research of single molecule chemistry together with our collaborators, and have taken chemical bond photos for the first time, which is of great significance for mastering the behavior of single molecule and atom and constructing single molecule electronic devices.
Study on laser spectroscopy
Zhu Qingshi has made world-class achievements in laser spectroscopy. In the study of high resolution factor vibration rotation spectrum of caoh radical, an advanced laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy technique was developed, and the high resolution spectrum of caoh radical was measured for the first time. In the study of semiconductor laser spectroscopy and Fourier transform spectroscopy of polyatomic molecules, the high-resolution semiconductor laser spectrum of cdf3 was measured, and the rotational transition of intensity distribution according to the statistical weight of nuclear spin was observed; the vibration force field analysis of ch2dch2ci was carried out, and an effective method to identify isomeric molecules by spectrum was developed, which has attracted the attention of international academic circles. At the 36th and 38th International Symposium on molecular spectroscopy in 1981 and 1983, he was invited to be the chairman of the session on semiconductor laser spectroscopy.
Study on local mode vibration of molecules
Since 1988, Zhu Qingshi has made a series of important achievements with international leading level in the experimental and theoretical research of molecular high vibrational dynamics. He observed for the first time in his experiments that the local mode vibration of spherical gyroscope molecules such as silane and germane reduces the symmetry and results in a significant change in the vibrational rotational energy level structure, which convincingly proves that they are long-lived local mode vibration dynamics. At the same time, he proved theoretically that the local mode vibration is the general trend of the stretching vibration of the xyn type molecules in the high kinetic energy region, and the interaction between Coriolis and Fermi will disappear or weaken when the molecules vibrate in the local mode. These works promote the development of molecular spectroscopy and provide a basis for bond selection chemistry. The related papers have been cited for more than ten years, and the local mode vibration spectroscopy has become one of the important contents of modern molecular spectroscopy. As a result, Zhu Qingshi has become one of the leading international experts on molecular local mode vibration, and has been invited to the International Conference on molecular spectroscopy for many times.
Single Molecule Chemistry Research
In 1997, Zhu Qingshi cooperated with Japanese scholars to explain some new phenomena in STM experiment by using local mode vibration and intramolecular energy transfer. At the same time, he organized cooperation in the fields of physics, chemistry and materials science, carried out the research on Single Molecule Chemistry, and made a series of remarkable achievements at home and abroad in this latest important international field. Their research on the orientation of C 60 molecule on silicon surface was rated as one of the top ten basic research news in China in 1999. For the first time, they took pictures of chemical bonds, which have been published in the British journal Nature. At the same time, the work was selected as the top ten science and technology news of China in 2001 by academicians of the two academies, the top ten science and technology news of China's basic scientific research organized by the Ministry of science and technology, and the top ten science and technology news of national universities organized by the Ministry of education.
