Life of the characters
Family background
Li Guang was born in Chengji of Longxi. His ancestor Li Xin was a famous general of Qin Dynasty. He led the army to defeat Prince YAN Dan. Li Guang's hometown was in Huaili and later moved to Chengji. Li Guangjia has learned archery from generation to generation.
Fight the rebellion and guard the border
In 166 BC (the fourteenth year of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty), the Xiongnu invaded Xiaoguan on a large scale. Li Guang joined the army as a son of a good family to fight against the Xiongnu. Because he was proficient in riding and archery, he killed many heads of the Xiongnu and was appointed Hanzhong Lang. Li Guang once followed the emperor several times to hunt and kill beasts. Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty said, "it's a pity that you didn't meet the opportunity. If you were born in emperor Gaozu's generation, you would be granted a marquis!"
After emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty ascended the throne, Li Guang was appointed as the commander of Longxi and the general of Qilang.
During the rebellion of the seven kingdoms of Wu and Chu, Li Guang served as the commander of Xiaoqi and followed Zhou Yafu to fight back against the rebels of Wu and Chu. In Changyi City, he won the Rebel Flag and made great achievements, which made him famous. However, because Liu Wu, king of Liang, gave him the seal of general, the imperial court did not give him a reward after he returned to the division. Li Guangdiao was the supreme governor of Shanggu and fought with Xiongnu every day. Sun kunxie, the Duke of the Dian Dynasty, cried to Emperor Jing of Han Dynasty and said, "Li Guang's talent is unparalleled in the world. He is conceited. He has repeatedly fought with the enemy, and I'm afraid he will lose him." So the court transferred Li Guang to be the prefect of Shangjun. Later, he successively served as the prefect of Longxi, Beidi, Yanmen, Daijun and Yunzhong, all of which were famous for fighting hard.
How to deal with Xiongnu
When the Huns invaded Shangjun on a large scale, Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty sent his close eunuchs to train the soldiers with Li Guang to fight against the Huns. Once, the eunuch with dozens of cavalry, galloping horse, met three Huns, and they fought. The three men turned to shoot arrows, wounded the eunuch, and killed dozens of cavalry. The eunuch ran up to Li Guang, who said, "this must be a sculptor." Li Guang took a hundred cavalry to chase the three men. The three men, without horses, walked for dozens of miles on foot. Li Guang ordered the cavalry to spread out, encircled from the left and right sides, and shot the three men himself. As a result, two of them were killed and one was captured alive. It was the Hun who shot the carving. When the prisoners were tied up and mounted, they saw thousands of Hun cavalry. When they saw Li Guang, they thought he was the cavalry to lure the enemy. They were all surprised and went up to the mountain to set up the battle. Li Guang's 100 cavalry were also very scared and wanted to run back.
Li Guang said: "we are tens of miles away from the army. Now we run away like this with 100 cavalry. As soon as the Huns catch up and shoot, they are all finished. Now if we stay, the Huns will think that we are luring the enemy for the army, and they will not dare to attack us. " Li Guang ordered the cavalry to go ahead When he got to about two miles away from the Xiongnu position, Xu stopped and ordered him to dismount His cavalry said, "there are many enemies and they are close. What should we do if there is an emergency?" Li Guang said: "those enemies who think we are going to go, now that they are all relieved of their saddles, they will not go, which can make the enemy insist on the wrong judgment that we are here to lure the enemy." So the Hun cavalry did not dare to attack. A Hun general on a white horse came out to guard his soldiers. Li Guang mounted his horse and galloped to kill the Hun general with more than a dozen cavalry. Then he returned to his cavalry, untied his saddle and ordered the soldiers to let go of the horse and lie down. At this time, it was just dark. The Hun soldiers always felt very strange and did not dare to attack. In the middle of the night, the Hun soldiers thought that the Han Army had ambush nearby, ready to attack them at night, so they all withdrew. At dawn, Li Guang returned to the army station. The army didn't know where Li Guang was, so they didn't send troops to meet him.
Be a guard
In 141 BC (the third year of the Yuan Dynasty after emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty), Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty died and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ascended the throne. Both the left and right officials thought that Li Guang was a famous general, so Li Guang was transferred from the prefect of Shangjun to the commander of Weiyang palace guard, and Cheng Buzhi was also the commander of Changle palace guard.
Cheng Buzhi and Li Guang used to be prefects and garrisons of border counties. When they attacked Xiongnu, Li Guangxing's army had no strict line and formation. They stationed near the place with abundant water and grass, where everyone felt convenient and didn't defend themselves at night. The shogunate simplified all kinds of documents and books, but he arranged sentinels far away, so he was never in danger. Cheng Buzhi had strict requirements on the establishment of the troops and the garrison formation of the marching line. At night, he was on guard, and the official documents and books such as the handling of documents and military officials and the performance appraisal were unambiguous. Even all night long, the army could not get a rest, but there was no danger.
Cheng Buzhi said: "Li Guangzhi's army is simple and easy, but if the enemy invades suddenly, he can't stop it. His taxi drivers were happy and comfortable, and they were willing to work hard for him. Although my army is busy with military affairs, the enemy does not dare to invade me. " At that time, Li Guang and Cheng Buzhi were both famous generals in the border counties of Han Dynasty, but the Huns were afraid of Li Guang's strategy, and most of the soldiers were willing to follow Li Guang, but they suffered from following Cheng Buzhi.
In 133 B.C. (the second year of Yuanguang reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty obeyed Wang Hui's advice and put down heavy troops in Mayi, intending to encircle and annihilate the Huns. Li Guang was a valiant general and a general of the guard army at that time, but later the Huns retreated when they only realized the intention of the Han Dynasty, so the Han Army in all directions failed.
Get arrested
Four years later, Li Guang took Wei Wei as a general and attacked Xiongnu from Yanmen. The Huns had many powerful soldiers. They defeated Li Guangjun and captured Li Guang alive. The Huns, Shan Yu, knew Li Guang's wisdom all the time and ordered him to be captured alive. The Xiongnu cavalry captured Li Guang alive and put him on the net between the two horses. Li Guang lay on the net. After walking for more than ten miles, Li Guang pretended to be dead and secretly saw a Hun cavalry riding a good horse nearby. Li Guang suddenly jumped on the Hun cavalry's horse and drove the horse to run south for dozens of miles. He took turns with his subordinates and returned to the Great Wall. Hundreds of Hun cavalry pursued Li Guang. Li Guang shot and killed the pursuers with the captured Hun cavalry's bow and arrow, and finally escaped. When Li Guang returned to the Han Dynasty, the court handed him over to the officials. Officials believed that Li Guang suffered a great loss and was captured alive by the enemy, so he should be beheaded. Later, Li Guang was redeemed as a common man.
Guard the border county
After a few years, Li Guang and Guan Qiang, the grandson of the former Yingyin Marquis who retired and lived in Lantian County, often went hunting in Nanshan. One night, Li Guang went out with a cavalry soldier to drink with others in the field. When he came back to the baling Pavilion, baling captain got drunk and yelled to stop Li Guang. "This is former General Li," said Li Guang's follower "The current general can't get through at night, let alone the former one," baling said Let Li Guang stay under the baling Pavilion. Before long, Xiongnu invaded Liaoxi, killed Taishou and defeated general Han. General Han moved to youpeiping and died. So the emperor appointed Li Guang as the prefect of right Peking. Li Guang asked baling Wei to go with him. When baling Wei arrived, Li Guang killed him and wrote to himself to apologize. Li Guang was in youbeiping county. The Xiongnu called him "flying general". He hid from Li Guang and did not dare to invade for several years.
Hard work and no success
The doctor ordered Shi Jian to die, so the emperor recruited Li Guang to replace Shi Jian. In the sixth year of Yuanshuo, Li Guang was transferred to be a general, and followed the army of general Wei Qing to attack Xiongnu from Dingxiang County. Most of the generals killed and captured the enemy to the standard, but Li Guang's troops did not.
Three years later, Li Guang, as a doctor, led 4000 cavalry troops from youpeiping, and Bowen Hou Zhang Qian led 10000 cavalry troops to go with Li Guang in two ways. After walking for several hundred miles, the Xiongnu King Zuo Xian led 40000 cavalry to encircle Li Guang. Li Guang's soldiers were very scared, so Li Guang sent his son Li Gan to attack the enemy quickly. Li Gan galloped away with dozens of cavalry, went straight through the encirclement of Xiongnu cavalry, took out the left and right wings of the enemy, and reported to Li Guang, "Xiongnu people are easy to deal with." The soldiers settled down. Li guangbu was in a round formation, facing the outside. The Huns stormed them, and the arrows rained like rain. More than half of the Han soldiers died, and their arrows were running out. Li Guang then ordered the soldiers to pull the bow and not shoot the arrow. Li Guang himself used the rhubarb crossbow to shoot the enemy's deputy generals, killing several of them, and the Huns gradually relaxed. It happened that it was getting dark, and all the officers and soldiers were colorless, but Li Guang's air was the same as usual, and he was more energetic in commanding the army. The soldiers in the army admire his courage.
The next day, Zhang Qian's army arrived, and the Hun army broke away. The Han army was too tired to pursue. At this time, Li Guang almost lost his army and had to withdraw his troops. According to the law of the Han Dynasty, Zhang Qian delayed the scheduled date, was sentenced to death, paid for atonement, and was reduced to civilian. Li Guang's military contribution is equal to his criminal responsibility, and there is no reward.
Regret killing
Li guangzeng chatted with astrologer Wang Shuo in private and said: "since the Han Dynasty attacked Xiongnu, I have never failed to take part in it. However, the ability of officers under the captains of all the troops is not as good as that of the middle class. However, dozens of people were granted Marquises for their meritorious service in attacking Xiongnu. I'm no worse than others, but I don't have any merit
