Influenced by his family studies, Peng Yujun has been obsessed with painting since he was a child. When he was a child, he was a little famous in one side. When he was older, he was admitted to a professional college. Besides writing a lot of predecessors' paintings and basic practice of sketching colors, he was also fond of calligraphy and seal cutting. In his spare time, he wrote poems and lyrics with 32 students and immersed himself in art. After graduation, he traveled all over the country to study and learn from his teachers. He was also fortunate to receive the advice of Liu Dawei, Feng Yuan, he Jiaying, Yuan Wu, Chen Yuming, Du Ziling and other contemporary figure painters. In retrospect, I first saw that his work was "the story of winter", based on "SARS", and was selected as the national "golden color Award" for its ingenious conception and profound implication. After a few years, the painting style has changed greatly, the techniques have become more mature, and the style has become independent. As far as its creation form is concerned, it can be classified into two categories: one is sketch, the other is theme. There are two themes in the genre: one is ancient sages and religious figures. For example, walking on snow to find plum blossom, drinking on ancient and modern times, appreciating Lotus by high scholars, fish music, Ziqi Donglai, mianbi, eighteen Arhats, recommending sages, and blessing from heaven, etc., these paintings pay more attention to "interest", rich and implicit in ink, and ethereal and ancient in character, which can be regarded as the painter's pursuit of the sages and advocating nature The second is the beauty of pink and Dai, such as "beloved baby", "Autumn Thoughts", "in the water side", etc. this kind of theme is close to the theme creation, the characters are more neat, the image is gorgeous but not vulgar, beautiful but not demon, and the ink language has a modern meaning. The theme creation focuses on society and life, such as Dashan sister flower, which describes the life of Yi women. The two women have different forms. The former is sitting upright, while the latter is half covered with shame. The characters in this work are vivid and full-bodied. "Autumn rhyme" and "long years" also belong to this category. Compared with sketches, theme creation pays more attention to the "construction" of artistic framework and the "fusion" of ideological precipitation. Taking the old man's wish as an example, the work is open and close, with strong contrast. The characters are exquisitely carved and realistic, while the clothes and background are freely written. It shows the unique ingenuity and the author's ability of controlling ink and wash in gathering and scattering, density and reality. In the painting, the old man takes a rest with a pen and looks forward. He looks thoughtful. What's the point of thinking? From the background, we can see several pigeons painted by the old man. Pigeon is peace. The old man's wish is self-evident and ingenious. Because of its superb expressiveness and artistic appeal, this work won the silver award of the first Qi Baishi award of Chinese painting exhibition of China Art Association.
As far as artistic style is concerned, Peng Yujun's painting style is fresh and distant, simple and elegant. He not only has the traditional brush and ink skills and solid modeling ability, but also has the painting elements of the times and personal "modal symbols". His works have already got rid of the shackles of traditional routines, based on the development and expansion of the aesthetic feeling of figure painting itself, creating a poetic space with more subjective consciousness, texture and flow.
