Anecdotes of urging manuscripts
During the war of resistance against Japan, Beixin publishing house once urged the writer Lao She for the manuscript of the youth. At the same time, Lao She humorously sent a letter with opera flavor: Marshal sent an emergency order: no food and grass inside, no soldiers outside! The young general took the gun and got on the horse. Let's take a walk in the youth world. Bark! Malay! See marshal. How many people? A word! They're all old and weak! Rest in the back! Deling! It is: the banners are clear, the murderous spirit is all over the mountain!

I went to see Lao Yi once. "What have you written recently?" Lou Shiyi asked. Lao She, a Manchu native, said with a smile, "I'm working as a" slave "to polish the manuscript of our" emperor. Once many young people came to Lao She's home to ask how to write poems. Lao She said, "I don't know how to write poetry. I just make up for it." It was suggested that Lao She be asked to "gather together" on the spot. "The heavy rain washes the sea of stars, and the rainbow sounds like the sky; the ice is shining, and the green forest sleeps." Lao she casually recited this unique five character quatrain. In only 20 words, the names of eight familiar and acclaimed writers and artists are put together, with vivid image, broad artistic conception and endless aftertaste. The young people all applauded.
