Early experience
Born in Hong Kong, Zhou Xianyang has enjoyed watching movies since he was a child. He studied in the Film Directing Department of the Hong Kong Academy for performing arts. In 2002, Zhou Xianyang was recommended to Jiang Zhiqiang by Shu Qi, a teacher of the Hong Kong Academy for performing arts. He took charge of the script development of Anle film, and successively studied with producer Jiang Zhiqiang and director Ang Lee. During this period, he participated in the script planning and publicity of hero, ambush and Huo Yuanjia.
Acting experience
In 2009, he directed the crime suspense film "crime and punishment" (also known as "murderer"), starring Guo Fucheng, Zhang Zhaohui and Zhang Junning. This is his first directing work, which officially opened his career as a director. With this film, he was nominated for the new director award of the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards.
On March 15, 2012, his crime suspense film "big chase" was released, starring Ren Dahua, Zhang Jiahui and Wen Yongshan. It tells the story of a policeman fighting with a murderer. He won the new director award of the 32nd Hong Kong Film Awards and the new director award of the year of the Hong Kong Film Directors Association.
On November 21, 2014, his action film "Huang Feihong's hero has a dream" premiered, which was co starred by Peng Yuyan, Hong Jinbao, Wang Luodan and Jing bairan, and finally achieved a box office performance of 182 million yuan.
In 2016, he served as the director and producer of the suspense action movie Hawthorne, which is adapted from Cheng Xiaoqing's novel Hawthorne detective collection and co starred by Han Geng, Yin Zheng and Zhang Huiwen.
In 2017, he directed the ancient costume action movie "true, unique in Three Kingdoms" adapted from the game of the same name, which was starred by Wang Kai, Han Geng and Gu Tianle. This is also his re cooperation with Zhang Zhaohui after nine years of the movie "crime and punishment". The movie started in Beijing on July 11 and changed its scene in November.
On April 30, 2021, the director's film "the true Three Kingdoms is unparalleled" will be released.
Personal life
On February 20, 2014, Zhou Xianyang and screenwriter Du zhilang ended their 20-year long-distance love and held a wedding banquet in Hong Kong; on November 25, Zhou Xianyang and Du zhilang's daughter was born.
