Character evaluation
Zhao Xinshui has rich life experience and military career, which laid a solid foundation for his later artistic creation, making his works more close to life and full of vicissitudes. He is like a mother, outgoing and good at communicating with others. In terms of artistic creation, he pursues a realistic and romantic artistic style. He is stubborn and persistent, and is recognized as a "bad tempered" director. However, his justice and righteousness are recognized by others. He is democratic and open-minded in his film creation. As a career oriented director, his artistic creation is a part of life, and his character and emotion are often reflected in the film. Many years of military career laid the foundation for Zhao Xinshui to shoot army life, making his military image temperament more vivid (review of film literature).
