Sun Yu
Sun Yu, born in Dalian, Liaoning Province on February 28, 1994, is an athlete of Chinese women's badminton team.
He entered Zhuhai sports school in February 2003, Guangdong provincial team in February 2005, and national badminton team No.2 in October 2010. In the women's singles final of Asian U19 Youth Badminton Championship held in India on July 9, 2009, he won the championship with 21-8 and 21-13 straight sets in 27 minutes.
On February 12, 2019, Sun Yu delivered his retirement speech on his personal social platform.
Sports career
Sun Yu started playing badminton at the age of 8.5 and received informal training in Dalian. Later, her parents found out that southern school had better technical training, so they sent her to Zhuhai sports school. During her stay in the sports school, she took part in the Guangdong Youth Badminton Competition and won the second place in singles, so she was able to participate in training in Guangzhou. After two months of training, she passed the team trials and officially entered the Guangdong badminton team in February 2005. In December 2012, Sun Yu took part in the Golden Grand Prix of badminton in Macao. In the final of women's singles, he beat Thailand's busanlan nbrupan 2-0 (21-19, 21-8) and won his first adult championship. On May 17th 2014, Thomas and Uber cups were held in New Delhi, India, 2014. Sun Yu is not only the youngest player in China's women's singles, but also regarded as the key training figure of the reserve force of women's singles by head coach Li Yongbo. The 20-year-old Sun Yu is about 1.85 meters tall and is the first "high man" in the history of Chinese women's singles. In April 2015, at the 2015 World Badminton Federation Super Series Singapore open, Sun Yu met Dai Ziying from Chinese Taipei in the final. Although the latter was Sun Yu's loser in the past three matches and lost the first game 13-21 this time, she not only successfully overtook the second game 4-9, but also led the decisive game 20-17, holding three match points. Seeing that China's first super women's singles champion in 2015 is about to miss out, Sun Yu suddenly broke out in a desperate situation and won 22-20 after scoring five points in a row. on August 25, 2017, in the women's singles quarter final of the 2017 World Badminton Championships, Sun Yu, No.5 seed and Chinese player, lost 14-21 and 9-21 to Rio Olympic runner up and Indian player sindhu, and was not qualified for the final four. on February 12, 2019, Sun Yu delivered his retirement speech on his personal social platform. At the age of 25, injury forced Sun Yu to retire at the golden age of sports.
