Kong Xiangyu has worshipped Premier Zhou since childhood. He thought: can I play the role of Premier Zhou? At home, he looked in the mirror repeatedly: at that time, he was less than 30 years old, skinny, pointed chin, 1.78 meters tall, only 120 Jin, too unlike. Wang Quan has unique insight. At that time, what the audience wanted to see most was "image". When they saw that "Premier Zhou" was very "similar in shape", they were very excited. However, Kong Xiangyu believes that he should pursue "spiritual resemblance" when he plays Premier Zhou. In 1979, his alma mater, the Academy of art of the people's Liberation Army, wanted to arrange the drama "reunion song" and seconded Kong Xiangyu. Reunion song is a play reflecting Premier Zhou's concern for Taiwan's youth, in which Kong Xiangyu plays the role of premier in the 1970s. At the beginning of the performance, he paid great attention to the external form of the characters, one look and one look. He carefully carved them, fearing that others would not look like them. As he played, he gradually began to understand. There is a scene in the song of reunion: after the Fourth National People's Congress, Premier Zhou was seriously ill, but he still ignored fatigue and personally met a pair of young people who were transferred back from two places. Kong Xiangyu was also lucky to get an audition. Kong Xiangyu was not particularly nervous at the audition because he had the experience of putting on the premier on the stage. However, he didn't feel how well he played. On the contrary, he was a bit depressed because he saw that other audition actors looked more like the premier than him. At that time, he comforted himself: Quan Dang went to Shanghai to play for a while!

Unexpectedly, after two days, the crew officially informed him that Kong Xiangyu became the actor of Zhou Enlai in Nanchang Uprising! When he first heard the news, he didn't believe it. He was afraid that it was someone else's joke. When he was sure the news was true, his heart began to beat faster! It's so rare to be a prime minister in a movie! After performing Nanchang Uprising, Kong Xiangyu received a lot of letters every day. "Nanchang Uprising" made Kong Xiangyu famous and made the audience remember him. Since playing Premier Zhou, Kong Xiangyu has always been strict with himself.
