Ma Xiaowei

Ma Xiaowei, male, Han nationality, was born in December 1959 in Wutai, Shanxi Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in October 1982 and began to work in August 1977.

At present, he is the director and Secretary of the Party group of the National Health Committee.

Biography of characters

He studied in the medical department of China Medical University from April 1978 to December 1982. After graduation, he successively served as a cadre and Secretary of the general office of the Department of science and education of the Ministry of health, an associate researcher, researcher, vice president, President and Secretary of the Party committee of the first Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, a deputy president of China Medical University, and a director and Secretary of the Party group of Liaoning Provincial Department of health.

In October 2001, he served as vice minister of the Ministry of health and member of the party leading group;

In April 2013, he was deputy director and member of the Party group of the national health and Family Planning Commission;

In March 2018, he served as director and Secretary of the Party group of the National Health Commission.

Appointment and removal

On March 19, 2018, the seventh plenary session of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress voted to appoint Ma Xiaowei as director of the National Health Commission.
