Min Bingtian was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1968. He majored in visual arts at Hongyi University. After graduation, he worked in TV dramas, documentaries, TV station PD, as well as shooting advertisements and music tapes. He has accumulated rich knowledge and experience in publishing and special effects production. Min Bingtian once directed the short film "mongolianhood" and won the award in Hongyi Video Festival. In 1995, he shot the memories music video for the singer group 015b, with the background set in the dark future world. With outstanding image feeling and special effects, it has attracted the attention of peers.

In 1999, min Bingtian made his first feature film, which is also the first nuclear submarine related film in South Korea's history, the ghost submarine.
