Yang Shengli

Yang Shengli, born on January 5, 1941 in Taicang, Jiangsu Province, is a biotechnology expert and academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering. He is now a researcher of Shanghai Institute of life sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also serves as director of the industrial biotechnology Expert Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an expert of the national "973" program expert advisory committee. Since 2000, he has been a researcher and director of Biotechnology Department of Dalian Institute of chemical physics. He once served as the director of the Standing Committee of the Department of medicine and health, Chinese Academy of engineering.

He graduated from Shanghai East China Institute of Chemical Technology in 1962 and worked in Shanghai Institute of pharmacy, Chinese Academy of Sciences in September 1962. From 1980 to 1982, he engaged in postdoctoral research in the University of California. From 1992 to 1996, he served as director and Secretary of the Party committee of Shanghai Bioengineering Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997.

Yang Shengli is mainly engaged in the research of systems biology and its application in biotechnology, including the application research and development of genetic engineering in enzyme, fermentation and pharmaceutical industries and metabolic engineering. Now mainly engaged in systems biology, synthetic biology and its application research.

In 1962, he graduated from the Department of organic chemical engineering, East China Institute of chemical technology.

In September 1962, he worked in Shanghai Institute of pharmacy, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

From 1980 to 1982, he engaged in postdoctoral research in the University of California.

From 1992 to 1996, he served as director and party secretary of Shanghai Bioengineering Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In 1997, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering.

He is the chairman of the biotechnology Expert Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, vice chairman of the new drug Expert Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the national "863" biotechnology expert committee, and Expert Advisory Committee on scientific and technological progress of Shanghai.

On November 26, 2014, he was a full-time academician of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and a part-time professor of East China University of science and technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University and China University of science and technology. Achievements in scientific research

Researcher Yang Shengli has been engaged in the application research and development of genetic engineering in enzyme, fermentation and pharmaceutical industries for a long time. In his research on cyanase acylase genetic engineering, he established gene cloning and expression system, and used DNA recombination in vivo to improve the stability of plasmids, optimize the host and expression conditions, and constructed highly stable and highly expressed genetic engineering bacteria The technical index should be better than the international similar genetic engineering bacteria. He also carried out pioneering and innovative research in molecular pharmacology, microbial hemoglobin and snake venom genetic engineering, protease protein engineering, molecular chaperone and so on, and made a series of achievements.

In 1988, he won the first prize of science and technology progress of Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1989, he won the second Yilida science and technology award of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

More than 70 papers have been published in important scientific journals at home and abroad. It has won 26 invention patents in China.
