Life of the characters
Liu Hu, written by the Tang Dynasty to avoid the taboo of Li Hu, the great grandfather of the Tang Dynasty, changed to Liu Wu. In the third year of Yongjia (309), his father Liu gaoshengyuan (a Liu xundou) died, and Liu Hu succeeded as the leader of Tiefu Department of Xiongnu. Liu juehu lives in the north of Xinxing. Northerners call the half breed son whose father is Hun and his mother is Xianbei "Tiefu", so Liu Hu takes this name and calls it Tiefu department.
At the beginning, Liu Hu succumbed to the Jin Dynasty. He thought that the number of tribes was gradually increasing, so he raised his troops to betray the Jin Dynasty. In October of the fourth year of Yongjia (310), Liu Kun, the governor of Bingzhou in Jin Dynasty, united with the United Nations to fight against Liu Hu. Tuoba Yulu, the nephew of Tuoba Yilu, the monarch of the dynasty, led 20000 cavalry to help Liu Kun defeat Liu Hu. Liu Hu collected the remains of the tribe, crossed the Yellow River to the west, held the Si Luchuan in Shuofang, and attached them to Liu Cong, the emperor of Zhao Dynasty. Liu Cong regarded Liu Hu as a patriarchal clan, appointed him general Anbei, general jianxianbei and general Dingling Zhonglang, and appointed him lord Loufan.
In June of the first year of Taixing (318), Liu Hu led his army to cross the Yellow River from Shuofang, and invaded the western region of daiguo. In July, Tuoba Yulu, the monarch of Dai state, led his army to meet Liu Hu. Liu Hu was defeated and fled to the Great Wall. Liu Lugu, Liu Hu's cousin, led the tribal people to surrender to Dai state.
In October of the seventh year of Xiankang (341), Liu Hu once again invaded the west of Dai state. The monarch of Dai state Tuobashi Yiqian sent troops to meet Liu Hu and defeated him. In the same year, Liu Hu died, and his son Liu Wuhuan succeeded as the leader. He sent envoys to Tuoba shiyiqian to ask for peace. Tuoba shiyiqian betrothed his daughter to him as his wife.
After he Liansheng, Liu Hu's great grandson, established the Daxia regime, he named Liu Hu emperor Jing.
