In 1979, after graduating from the 8th TVB artistes training class, he joined TVB Hong Kong and became a TVB actor.
In 1981, Li Chengchang began to appear in the fashion drama Hong Kong August 1 to Hong Kong August 6 series, in which he played Ren Baikang.
In 1986, he starred in the martial arts drama "Yitian Tulong Ji" starring Liang Chaowei, Li Meixian and Deng Cuiwen, in which he Zudao, the three saints of Kunlun, was played.
