Li Gen
Li Gen, born in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province on August 15, 1988, is a Chinese professional basketball player. He works as a small forward and plays for the CBA North control men's basketball team.
In 2008-09 season, Ligen was sent to Shanghai Men's basketball team to start his career; in 2010 off-season, he joined Qingdao Double Star team; in 2011-2012 season, Ligen was selected into CBA all star reserve team and won MVP for the first time; in August 2013, Ligen joined Beijing BBMG men's basketball team and won CBA championship with the team in the second season; in August 2015, he joined Xinjiang Guanghui team; in June 25, 2019, he joined the team In August 2020, he joined Beijing control men's basketball team.
Early experience
Li Gen was born in Jiaozuo City basketball home. His mother was a member of Henan basketball team, and his father often played basketball in the army. Growing up in such a family, Ligen had a close relationship with basketball since he was a child. When he began to formally learn to play basketball at the age of 8, basketball became his inseparable partner.
After several years of professional training in the city's sports training class, Li Gen won the championship of the Henan Provincial Games on behalf of Jiaozuo in 2006. Later, Li Gen went to Ningbo University and was called into the school basketball team by Ningda. Li Gen's outstanding performance in university league matches has attracted the attention of basketball coach Shan Weiguo of Wuhan Institute of physical education. In order to cultivate a team that can fight hard in the future for the declining Shanghai Men's basketball team at that time, Shan Weiguo went all over the country to look for good basketball players. As the key training object, Li Gen was called into the team under the guidance of Shan Weiguo. After a year of training, he was sent to the Shanghai team.

In the 2009-2010 season, Yao Ming won the Shanghai Men's basketball team. Due to the introduction of high-level foreign aid in the team, young Li Gen became a "bench player", with few opportunities to play and poor hand feeling. He couldn't train and play with his teammates, and even couldn't enter the hotel where the team stayed.
Qingdao period
After the Shanghai contract expired, Li Gen joined Qingdao, where he ushered in his own spring. It was only after meeting South Korean coach Jiang Zhengxiu that Lee Kan regained his life on the field. He not only became the absolute main force of the double star team, but also became one of Jiang Zhengxiu's most valued players.
In the 2010-11 season, Ligen played 27 games on behalf of the double stars, averaging 10.2 points per game. But the injury in the second half of the season made Ligan lose the chance to lead the team forward.
In the 2011-12 season, Li Gen averaged 17.5 points, 3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in Qingdao, with a two-point shooting rate of nearly 60%, ranking second among the local players in scoring.
On February 19, 2012, the CBA all star competition was held in Guangzhou International Sports Performance Center. The Northern Star team beat the Southern Star team 122-112. Li Geng scored 31 points in 4 of 7 three-point shots, including 4 smashes, and won the MVP of the all star game in a dark horse manner. This MVP is also the first time for Qingdao players to win the MVP in all star history, and it is also the first time for domestic players to take the title of MVP into account in those three years.
On February 5, 2014, Qingdao beat Beijing 114-102, Li Gen scored 41 points and 5 rebounds in 16 of 22 shots, second only to Xu Guodan's 46 points among local players. Of Ligen's 40 points, 33 came from the first half, so he became the only domestic player who could score 30 + in the first half. After half-time, Ligen scored 33 points in 12 of 15 shots, so he became the only domestic player to win 30 + in the first half of 2011-12 season.
Beijing period
In August 2012, Ligen signed a contract with Beijing BBMG, which will last for three seasons.
In 2012-13 season, in the first season of joining Beijing team, Li Gen's performance was ups and downs, with eight consecutive scoring double flash moments, and five games with an average of 6.8 points. Finally, Beijing team fell before the threshold of the semi-finals.
In 2013-14 season, healthy Ligen showed his strength from the fourth round of the season, scoring double in six consecutive games, and finally helped Beijing team win the CBA championship.
On January 13, 2015, Ligen was selected as the all star substitute.
Xinjiang period

On January 7, 2021, in the 27th round of the CBA regular season, in the 94-101 defeat to Guangxia, Li Gen made two three-point hits, and his career three-point hit number reached 719, surpassing Zhang Yunsong and rising to the 29th place in the CBA history three-point hit list. On September 19, 2016, Li Gen and Wang Xingyang formally received their marriage certificate. On June 4, 2017, Li Gen married in Jiaozuo, Henan Province.

Character evaluation
